Vellines, Glick & Whitesell, P.C., is a full-service law firm located in The American Hotel Building in historic downtown Staunton in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The firm has served the needs of
clients for over 40 years. Each of the firm's attorneys emphasizes one or more practice areas of law. The firm's lawyers have well-established and extensive practice in residential & commercial real estate, civil litigation, corporate & business law, family law, wills, trusts & estates, criminal & traffic law, general business matters, and personal injury. Our practice is regional, extending throughout the mid-Shenandoah Valley, including Staunton, Waynesboro & Augusta County, Shenandoah County, Lexington, Buena Vista & Rockbridge County, Alleghany County, Highland & Bath Counties, and beyond.
After five years of practice in Staunton, in 1978, Wilson F. "Wick" Vellines, Jr., Cabell F. Cobbs and W. Chapman "Chap" Goodwin created the firm. K. Wayne Glass joined the firm in 1984, after having served 10 years as Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Staunton. Cabell F. Cobbs retired from the firm prior to his passing in 2002. W. Chapman “Chap” Goodwin retired from the firm in 2012 when he was appointed Judge of the Augusta County General District Court, and was subsequently appointed to the Augusta County Circuit Court, from which he retired in 2023. Wilson F. “Wick Vellines, Jr. retired from the firm in 2019.
The firm expanded its practice with the addition of James B. Glick in 1998. The firm expanded once again with the addition of Angela V. "Angie" Whitesell, who joined the firm on January 1, 2007. Angie practiced for five years in Northern Virginia and over 13 years in Staunton before joining the firm. James and Angie are the current managing partners of the firm and have been since 2012.
Haidyn Wells joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2022 after practicing in Lexington since her bar admission in 2020. Jessica Robinson joined the firm in 2024 after practicing in Staunton since 2001.
